The market was quiet and back to its usual doldrums, and higher. The SPX flirted with new highs, but missed it by a couple of points.
After the bell several names came out with earnings such as EA (video game company), MSFT, and AAPL.
The most amazing thing was that after the close the US stated that there was no direct link with Russia to the plane crash. This is the most amazing investigation in the history of plane incidents – especially being a pilot I have some familiarity with the process.
A crash happened at my local airport when a pilot didn’t read his checklist and took off without the fuel selector switch turned to “ON”. It took 4 months to get all the parts in a hanger and rebuild the plane to determine the cause though one of the first pieces recovered was the metal plate with the fuel switch showing OFF> And that was a plane that didn’t make it 300 feet past the runway (and 10 feet off the ground) before crashing. Doesn’t pass the smell test.
I have not hear of a stolen bicycle in my town recovered this fast (5 days). This sounds toooooooooo fishy to believe. Like the Gulf of Tunkin and other incidents I suspect this is BS to smooth life off diplomatically. It just doesn’t pass the sniff test. But then again we don’t believe Iran really, really wants to build a nuke, and ISIS was not the result of us pulling out of Iraq.
Today
Having had a bunch of earnings come out already everything is quiet and bullish. More earnings out this morning in some big names (MMM, GM, etc.).
If you told me two years ago that we would be watching the disintegration of the Middle East, Iraq becoming a country OWNED and CONTROLLED by al Queda terrorist, Russia invading countries and we spank them with taking away some people’s allowance, Israel being at war with Iran (via Hamas), our country doing NOTHING to assist NATO countries, and the markets at record levels and climbing……I would have tried to have you committed as you were out of touch with reality.
And YET here we are, and going higher – FOR NOW. The Zit keeps growing, but is NOT ready to be popped yet. One can not fight the Fed or the Trend. And this is a whopper of both. So when in doubt, one can not go wrong by pretending to flip a coin and yelling (or is it Yellen) HEADS.

And it is going to be a doozie. Too much to do and talk about in 90 minutes. What will be the straw that breaks that camel’s back?

Defense Statements:
I know I get some flack from people accusing me of being political. If you have not learned politics controls the markets as much as earnings, you are missing a BIG point. I prefer to never think about those elected morons, but I am forced to. Few are real leaders, rather corporate puppets. But their laws and politics do control the economy and markets. Dodd-Frank is the break that opposes the gas petal the Fed was lowering.
Just to set the record straight. We are going through an unprecedented amount of Anti-American hate in the world. This time it is with both our allies and our foes. Terrorists are sticking their toe in the water to see how our response is, and they see no push back. Even Jon Daily said “Obama has been on vacation for a year and a half, and sits around eating cheese doodles”. Not good for the markets long term.

Trading is almost as much fun as black jack in Vegas, but without all the annoying distractions of free drinks, Broadway shows, gorgeous people with low morals, and free buffets. It also has about the same odds of success, so when you lose all your money you wont have to walk past a smiling pit boss. Even Bruce Wayne lost everything with options in The Dark Knight Rises, and Superman keeps his day job at the DailyPlanet newspaper.
We did NOT get any TARP money, so we are not aligned with any politician. We have the utmost respect for our attorneys who tell us any attempt to trade is throwing money out the window, and investing is risky business (still a great movie). Past performance doesn’t mean a thing. The future is even scarier. There is no guarantee the sun will come up tomorrow. Random Walk and everyone associated with it promises absolutely nothing. We guarantee nothing. We wont ever do anything right unless it is an accident.
Random Walk only provides education (and a great cup of Starbucks if you visit our office). If you want advice please consult an attorney, licensed broker, Tarot cards, tax consultant, investment adviser, etc. Random Walk, LLC is full of morons, dolts, has-been(s), chromosome damaged individuals, thieves, ex-cons, losers, and carnival barkers. Any attempt to find a semblance of intelligence or integrity in Random Walk would be a waste of time.

Random Walk deeply cares about each and every student. We try to keep the selling of products to a minimum. We believe our students are a result of attraction rather than promotion. This does NOT mean that the more attractive you are, the more we promote ourselves (in general).
Our products are written ONLY by floor traders, fund managers and retired floor traders. They are expensive and unique. That does NOT mean they (materials) come on a tablet of concrete from Mt. Sinai. If you are still reading this, you will likely be the first to have gotten this far. No guarantee for accuracy is made.
Because of the proprietary nature of our materials and the ease of electronic copying, all sales are final. There are far too many people who have no problem stealing our materials and putting them on torrents or copying them. These are the same low-life, selfish, whining, half-wit hypocrites that would cry like a newborn with a wet diaper if someone stole their car radio. They have to pay for our materials before stealing them, and live with their karma (and our legal team). Yes, we have caught a few and now have one person working on detective work solely.
Sales are far from our largest concern. If you are a whiner, complainer, or generally unhappy with life please go to someone else in this industry who values money over happiness. We can point you in the direction of other firms that only care about the bottom and top line. Jerry Springer can also point you in the right direction. Besides whiners are a total distraction from the awesome group of students we are fortunate to have. We are truly blessed and thank them (provided that is fine with our lawyers). “Thank yous” are only handed out in countries where legal and void where prohibited.
